Safety in and around water is a key issue in all overseas expeditions. This two day course will focus on giving expeditioners the skills to assess the dangers of different water environments from streams and rivers through to coastal and beach situations.
Fieldskills is pleased to say we will be running a brand new qualification for expedition water safety through RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society). The course will travel to a number of water locations (river, swimming pool & sea) ensuring the delivery of as many aspects of water safety training as necessary. As with our other safety courses the focus remains on everyday skills and appreciation of the environment.
Who is the course suitable for?
- With the expedition industry looking for more skills for their leaders in the area of water safety it is likely to be of particular interest to expedition leaders looking to enhance the safety of their groups.
- It will also be greatly valuable to travellers or researchers wanting to know the warning signs of what dangers to look out for and how to avoid them.
- Teachers going on expeditions where water may be encountered and therefore would like to feel informed and confident about such environments.
