Environmental Policy

As directors of Fieldskills we have all chosen to be involved in conservation focused projects and expeditions throughout our careers. When we set up Fieldskills we were determined not only to limit our effects on the environment but to work actively to support conservation projects ourselves and to involve and educate others.
  • Carbon Offsetting:

We also support worldwide initiatives such as offsetting our flights with www.climatecare.org. We encourage the companies we work with and our clients to do the same. We also try to reduce our carbon footprint by minimising energy use in our offices.
  • Training for Environmental Awareness:

All of our training courses include education on environmental camping protocols and the importance of responsible travel.
  • Conservation Projects:

Much of our work is in providing logistics for expeditions or volunteer organisations. We take pride in sourcing genuinely useful, sustainable projects. By building ongoing relationships with in-country NGOs we hope to enhance clients’ experience, the value and quality of the projects done and their long term effects.
  • Education Programs:

We are developing programs to bring the rainforest expedition experience into UK schools. We firmly believe that education is one of the main purposes of expeditions and has a key role to play in the future conservation of the rainforest.
  • Responsible Travel:

When planning itineraries we try to do so in accordance with responsible travel principles. This means where possible using small, locally run lodges or larger organisations which manage their environmental responsibilities.
